As an adventure seeker, I say "yes" to novel road trips. The aim of this one was to debut my story about my overnight experience in New York City at a storytelling show named "Maan, You've Got To Hear This".

Nestled deep in Bushwick, Brooklyn, I discovered its venue."Precious Metals Bar" an electic space cleverly designed which magically makes a former industrial setting feel homey.

The stories were very personal. There was a lot of deep listening. We witnessed and felt a wide range of emotions. The event's host and the event space's informality successfully encouraged tellers of all kinds.

It was special. It connected everyone there. I was glad I decided to participate. We were all encouraged to return. We will.

What neighborhoods or communities immediately opened up to you as an " out of towner"?
