Hidden Gem as a Rest Stop

I was on my home from a weekend in Massachusetts and wanted to do something light hearted as I stretched my legs. I Googled “Hidden Gems” and the Winslow Farm Sanctuary caught me eye

Run by children volunteers, rescued farm, exotic and domesticated animals are lovingly cared for. The sanctuary was decorated for Halloween and I could paint a pumpkin as a part of the visit if I wanted to.

Picture Perfect

Totally local, an intimate and rustic venue. Feeling joy, acceptance and hospitality. Being transported to Iceland for the day. Who could ask for anything more from a daycation?

I attended the Iceland Affair in Winchester, CT. This local gem was stunning.

I’ve always wanted to travel to Iceland. What a perfect opportunity to be immersed. From diverse lectures about the Northern Lights, Elves and Arctic Foxes ... to taste testing culinary delights ... to petting Icelandic Horse.

Better than Expected

It was Sunday morning and I woke up looking for solo friendly things to do. My host suggested visiting Whiting Mills, an artist community located in town. One Sunday a month they hold an open studio event.  The way she spoke about it made me curious.
